About me

Ingrid currently works as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist for the National Health Service (NHS) in Oxford, UK. She provides Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) in primary care on an outpatient basis to clients with low mood, depression, low self-esteem, and anxiety disorders such as phobias, social anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, health anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and more. Appointments are usually once a week or fortnightly. CBT is brief, active, structured and change-oriented, and therapy usually lasts between 6-20 sessions. Clients are expected to actively participate in treatment. 

Previously, Ingrid worked full-time as a psychotherapist and coach in private practice for three years. She holds an MA in psychology from the University of St. Andrews and an MSc in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy from London Metropolitan University. 
 
In her private practice, Ingrid provides psychotherapy for mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, phobias, stress, eating problems and others. She also provides skills coaching on various topics such as overcoming procrastination, assertiveness, communication skills and career planning.
 
Previous work experience includes three years of recruitment in Brussels, designing and delivering assessment centres in Germany, and working as a hospital psychologist, counselling individuals and running workshops on workplace reintegration and stress management.
 
Ingrid has lived and worked in Germany, the U.S., U.K. and Belgium.
She is trilingual in German, English and French.
