About me

I have retired from my full-time professorship, but remain active--just in different ways.  My first project after retirement was to write a book, Supply Chain Survival in the Age of Globalization, published by Business Expert Press (BEP) and available through Amazon.  In writing it, I was able to pull together many of my interests over the years including supply chains, international business and economics, business and economic history and the APICS body of knowledge.

In my second year, I am updating the book with an eye to translating it into German with a colleague, Dieter Bartmann, of Regensburg.  I have also increased the intensity of my swimming training so I can compete in the World Masters Championships in Riccione, Italy, in June 2012.

I continue to work on writing and publishing papers, although at a slower pace than before retirement.  I also travel to Germany twice a year to teach at the DHBW.  The school is in Bad Mergentheim, Germany, a delightful city of 12,000 on the Romantische Strasse.  Be returning there regularly, I have made connections in the community including the local Rotary Club.  The school is a cooperative university, so the students gain more and more real business experience as they progress through their studies.  I thoroughly enjoy teaching there.

My wife and I have taken advantage of being in Germany so often by searching for and finding some of her long, lost relatives.

I continue to entertain opportunities to teach in the short term at other locations.
