Jeff Oriecuia

My name is Jeff Oriecuia and I am currently working as a Business Analyst at Broad Street Services in Vancouver. Working here, I hope to further develop my business and management skills, leverage my entrepreneurial experience in China, and use my knowledge of the computer software / technical fields.
 
In China, I worked as a Project Manager for a company in the exhibitions and entertainment sector. My responsibilities at this company were to act as a bridge between Chinese management and European enterprise customers to deliver excellent projects on time and above expectations. I really enjoyed this work as it was challenging, built my skills, and put me where I am most successful… in crisis situations working actively with a diverse set of people to reach common goals.
 
I ran a small consulting enterprise in China for 3 years. The company itself was called Rexin International Services Ltd., and its English training brand was RX English. The experience of running my own company in China has been valuable to me, as I have been able to study and acquire the “soft” business skills that are unique to China. It also led to me becoming a fluent Mandarin Chinese speaker.
 
I have extensive experience in the computer software industry. Before getting my Computer Science degree I worked in telephone / email technical support at a business intelligence (BI) software company. At an Internet security company, I began in their Quality Assurance department, and was later chosen to serve as the manager of their customer service team. After graduation, I worked as a C++ and Java programmer for a large, French software company called Business Objects.
