About me
Prior to joining China Grill Management, Inc., Feigenheimer successfully owned and operated three restaurants of his own, with locations in Albany, New York, and Boca Raton, Florida. In 1983, Joel Feigenheimer purchased the Cranberry Bog Restaurant, an independent eatery specializing in fresh seafood and prime cuts of beef. After gaining commercial success, Feigenheimer initiated Bog Events to supplement the restaurant as a full-service catering company for upscale events.
Throughout his career, Joel Feigenheimer has displayed a commitment to improving the food service industry. While maintaining responsibility for his own businesses, he operated for several years as the Vice President of the Restaurant Operator’s Cooperative, a buying group comprising 100 independent operators. Feigenheimer also presided as the Vice President of New York State Restaurant Association’s Albany Chapter, sat on the Industry Review Board of The State University of New York (SUNY) at Cobleskill, and cofounded the Gold Medal Wine Tour.
Joel Feigenheimer continues to work as a consultant to the Gold Medal Wine Tour, as well as the American Fine Wine Competition. Over the last four years, these two organizations have raised nearly $500,000 for local and national charities. Feigenheimer concurrently is serving as an Adjunct Professor at the Florida International University's School of Hospitality. He teaches Purchasing and Menu Planning, a senior-level course specializing in sustainability, ethics, and control systems.
Joel Feigenheimer is now a candidate for an MBA from Lynn University with a specialization in Hospitality. He is expected to graduate in February 2012. He earned his Bachelor of Science from The School of Hotel and Restaurant Management at Cornell University. Before endeavoring to start his own restaurant, Joel Feigenheimer gleaned insight into the industry in managerial positions with Houlihan’s Restaurants, Inc. and TGI Friday’s Inc.
