Overseeing all company strategy development, business development and internal and external communications; encouraging innovation, helping to promote best practice and supporting business improvement activities were integral to the role.

Leading & recruiting the UK end of the team set up to create a robust, direct sourcing capability; initially sourcing from SE Asian markets to service both UK & Middle East markets. Primary object to deliver substantial savings & performance improvement over a period of time. The programme required focused but radical re-engineering of supply chain & processes to enable sourcing the correct specification of approved products directly from overseas manufacturers in a systematic, controlled & timely manner.

Seconded from Carillion, led JV company through set up, integration and mobilisation of a new company as it TUPE’d people (400+ direct and 700+ into supply chain) from over 40+ complex regional contractual terms into a unified England and Wales contract to maintain over 40,000 Service Family Accommodation (SFA).

Key roles in leading the agreement with Defence Estates of the final price and conditions of contract, coordinating the views and approvals from the Joint Venture’s legal representatives, inspiring and leading the commercial and supply chain teams in developing contract agreements. Key role in leading commercial teams involving developing and implementing an innovative commercial and pricing strategy in a number of Defence Prime Contracts.
