John Matthews is the Managing Director/Owner of Comscient Group http://www.comscient.com. In 1991 while working for financial markets trading room consultants INFACT Ltd John founded the European software market intelligence and software management consultancy INFACT Research. In 1992 John co-led the management buyout of INFACT Research from INFACT Ltd to create INFACT Research Ltd. He led INFACT Research until 2003 building it into an established brand in the European CRM and Financial Services software market research and software consultancy marketplace and as a provider of knowledge process outsourcing (KPO) to major consulting firms, marketing firms, venture capital and private equity firms, and corporations. While leading INFACT Research, John personally consulted to some of the largest and best known brand names in strategy consulting, systems integration, and in software venture capital and private equity.
 
From 1984 to 1986, while with Artificial Intelligence Ltd, John collaborated with teams at Xerox Palo Alto Research Center (Xerox PARC) on artificial intelligence-based decision support systems and hypertext systems. In 1988 while with management consultants Inforem, John consulted to Citicorp Investment Bank Ltd (now Citigroup) to develop rules-based decision support systems for a new type of fund being created which became known as a Structured Investment Vehicle (SIV) kick starting a multi billion dollar financial market.
