About me

John Roijen is a highly accomplished executive with more than 15 years of consistent success directing substantial growth, streamlining global operations, building productive financial operations, and increasing business development. With exceptional expertise within financial analysis, contract negotiations, business reengineering, and operations management, he offers growth, turnaround, and site closure / transition experience within multiple international industries.

In March 2007, Mr. Roijen was named Chief Financial Officer for Virgin Nigeria Airways, recruited by Virgin Atlantic airways Board. Within a strategic turnaround initiative he successfully reduced operating costs, negotiated financial infusions, implemented pricing strategies, and established revenue management systems increasing sales US$20M and reducing costs US$100M. He successfully realized positive EBIT improving from US$10-15M in monthly losses during prior two year period. Mr. Roijen established a five year growth plan including an IPO offering within two years.

Previously, Mr. Roijen provided financial management, consulting, and operational guidance to various companies as Vice President of Finance for Osborn and as Interim Chief Financial Officer for SG Technologies. In these roles, he managed financial operations within global manufacturing sites implementing reporting systems, streamlining production operations, negotiating contracts, and closing global operations to reduce operating costs and eliminate redundancy.

From 2003 to 2005, Mr. Roijen served as Director of Finance for Avon Rubber plc, a world leading manufacturer of high technology rubber-based products. Here he managed multiple sites cutting costs, implementing operations improvements, and driving corporate growth. He implemented a new reporting system and achieved a US$7M cost savings within two global operations due to strategic streamlining initiatives.

Prior to his tenure at Avon Rubber plc, Mr. Roijen performed as Group Financial Director (CFO) for Clip-Lok International, a leading manufacturer of packaging solutions for the Aerospace and Automotive industries. He was recruited to transfer the corporate financial operation from Switzerland to Holland. Mr. Roijen successfully established the new company including development of tax structures, site identification, regulatory reporting transition, and relocation logistics. During h is tenure he successfully reduced tax liability 50%, closed three global operations eliminating redundancy, and increased business value by acquiring new companies.

While expanding his leadership roles, Mr. Roijen grew Technology Group Pty Ltd in Botswana as Financial / General Manager from €9 to €40M in two years expanding staff from 67 to 165 team members. He also prepared Steel Pipe Industries in South Africa for sale successfully achieving a favorable deal as Interim Financial Director. At Venter Marketing in South Africa he obtained 12% European market share within expansion and development of new products. Mr. Roijen began his career as an Accountant for Ernst & Young while receiving his Chartered Accountant certification.

Mr. Roijen was educated at Henley Management College and holds a Masters in Business Administration and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management with emphasis on International Management.
