About me

John J. Tierney is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) with more than 20 years experience in information systems and security.

He has also attained the National Security Agency certificate in Information Assessment Methodology (IAM) and Information Evaluation Methodology (IEM).

John is a Founder and Executive Vice President of the New York Metro InfraGard Members Alliance, an FBI program whose mission is information sharing and the security of critical infrastructure. The InfraGard has more than 30,000 members nationwide with Alliances at each of the FBI field offices.

In 2007 John was awarded a commendation by the FBI for “Exceptional Service in the Public Interest” signed by Director Robert S. Mueller III. In in the Fall of 2008 I graduated from the FBI Citizen’s Academy and also participated in the Aspen Institute’s Homeland Security Program project which was documented in the book “New York City’s Preparedness for Terrorism”.

His training and experience have focused on Network, Information and Facility Security and has included projects covering all aspects of Information Systems from both technological and managerial standpoints for risk assessment, audit and compliance, incident response and policy planning.

He has performed multiple roles as an independent consultant providing technical and administrative information systems design, security auditing, assessment and evaluation, training programs as well as forensic investigation services for mid-sized and international organizations.
