About me

Wer ich bin?

Kurze Version:
Aufgewachsen in einem deutsch/englischen Elternhaus, Industriekauffrau, staatlich geprüfte Kommunikationswirtin und passionierte Texterin und Übersetzerin.

Lange Version:
Nach Abitur und Ausbildung zur Industriekauffrau sammelte ich zunächst zwei Jahre Berufserfahrung im Vertrieb.
Fasziniert von der Welt der Kommunikation, wechselte ich in die Public Relations Abteilung des globalen Halbleiterherstellers Philips Semiconductors, um dort zum einen die Presse- und Öffentlichkeitsarbeit für den deutschsprachigen Raum zu übernehmen.
Dabei zeichnete ich unter anderem für die Implementierung der internationalen PR-Aktivitäten in Deutschland, Schweiz und Österreich und für die redaktionelle Bearbeitung des PR-Materials verantwortlich.
Zum anderen unterstützte ich die weltweite PR für die Marktsegmente Automotive & Consumer. Hier zählten die Evaluation der PR-Maßnahmen und die Gestaltung der weltweiten Intranet-Auftritte zu meinen Aufgaben.

Neben meinem Job bei Philips studierte ich Kommunikationsmanagement an der Kommunikationsakademie Hamburg. Die vermittelten Grundlagen in den Bereichen Betriebs- und Volkswirtschaft, Recht, Werbung, Psychologie, Public Relations, Customer Relationship Marketing, Gestaltung, Verkaufsförderung, Marketing und Kommunikation wurden gleich in die Praxis umgesetzt – bei der selbstständigen Entwicklung von mehreren Konzeptionen für Auftraggeber aus der Wirtschaft.
2002 schloss ich das Studium als staatlich geprüfte Kommunikationswirtin ab.

Nach knapp vier Jahren als Kommunikations-Profi bei Philips machte ich mich selbstständig, um mich auf die textliche Vermittlung auch komplexer Themen und das Übersetzen zu konzentrieren.

Seit 2004 unterstütze ich nun freiberuflich viele Unternehmen aus den unterschiedlichsten Bereichen mit meiner analytischen Herangehensweise, meinen Erfahrungen in der Kommunikationsbranche und meiner Leidenschaft für Text und Sprache.

Who I am?

Short version:
Of mixed parentage (English/German), Industrial Business Management Assistant, Bachelor of Communications, and a passionate writer and translator.

Long version:
After the Abitur (= German university entrance qualification) and an apprenticeship as Industrial Business Management Assistant, I gained two years of professional experience in sales.

Fascinated by the world of communications, I then changed to the Marketing Communications department of Philips Semiconductors, a global semiconductor manufacturer, where I took on the Public Relations for the German-speaking countries.
In this role, I was in charge of implementing all international PR activities in Germany, Switzerland and Austria, and of editing the PR materials.
Additionally, I supported global PR for the Automotive & Consumer market segments by evaluating the PR measures and creating/maintaining the worldwide intranet sites, etc.

At the same time, I studied Communications Management at the Communication Academy Hamburg. All the basics in industrial management, economics, law, advertising, psychology, public relations, customer relationship marketing, layouting, promotion, marketing and communications gained here were put into practice right away – by independently developing several concepts for different companies.
In 2002, I completed my degree as State Certified Bachelor of Communications.

After nearly four years as communications professional at Philips, I started my own business to focus on the textual communication of complex subjects and on translation.

Since 2004, I have been working as a freelancer and successfully supporting many companies from different fields with my strong analytical skills, my experience in communications, and my passion for text and language.
