About me

I'm a traveling girl. What started as a joke has become the reality that saved my life. I'm not being dramatic. I was seriously burned out, depressed and on the verge of becoming an old and bitter woman. Something had to shift. I went back to the folks who invited me to come see them on a couch-surfing tour around the US and to my amazement, they not only said.. "Please come", but added.. "I love you" "You're inspiring" "You're amazing" and "I can't wait to see you again." WOW.. were they really talking about me?

Time to downsize. I went from a 3500 square feet into living out of my car (kindof, not exactly). Seriously, I gave a ton of stuff away on Freecycle and Charity pick-ups and sold a couple of things on Craig's List. I put tenants into my home and well, that's another story as getting payment has been a regular challenge.

Once, all the dots were placed on a map, planning the trip was an easy game of connect the dots since there were a couple of absolute dates to work with. (family reunion, class reunion, 3-day event for breast cancer) The overview was 55 beds and 27 states in 8 months.

I'm now entering the 7th month of this life changing event. I hear all the time that I've gotten younger and that I'm more peaceful and grounded and mostly, that the light has come back into my eyes. I've gotten to kayak, white water raft, para sail, horseback ride, drive a quad, a 2000 gallon water truck and a bobcat. I've been blessed with the most generous hosts who gave to me not just room and board, but a place in their hearts and lives. I am happy. :)
