About me

A trained psychiatrist with nearly two decades of combined education and experience, Dr. Kimberly Hammes Frank has dedicated her career to treating the mental health needs of young people. Dr. Frank specializes in the treatment of children and teenagers experiencing psychiatric disorders including anxiety, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and mood disorders, as well as autism, Asperger disorder, and trauma.

Dr. Kimberly Frank currently works as an outpatient psychiatrist for Aurora Health Care, a position she has held for more than a decade. She has worked for Adoption Resources, an organization that provides services and support for adopted and foster children throughout southeastern Wisconsin.

Earlier in her career, Dr. Kimberly Frank taught for the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, as a Clinical Assistant Professor. A Diplomate of the American Board of Adult Psychiatry, she is also a board-certified member of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, where she previously served as an oral board examiner.

Dr. Frank received her education as a physician at the Medical College of Wisconsin, where she earned a Doctor of Medicine in 1990. Subsequently, she completed an internship and residency in psychiatry at the Creighton University School of Medicine. Upon conclusion of her residency, she continued at Creighton University to complete a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, where she served as the Department’s Chief Fellow in 1995.

An advocate of charitable giving, Dr. Kimberly Frank donates money to global relief organizations including Compassion International, World Vision, and Doctors Without Borders. She is a patron of the arts and devotes her leisure time to exploring museums and has volunteered as an art history lecturer in her local school system. Kimberly Frank stays healthy through regular exercise, and also enjoys gardening, traveling, and reading nonfiction.
