What if there was a proven way for you to overcome well-entrenched patterns of self-destructive behavior in your life?
What if you could achieve your dream of living the rest of your life in a healthy, strong, attractive body, for example?
What would the rest of your post-diet life be about?

Or, if you were to finally achieve the success, recognition and rewards in your professional field?
What would you aspire to next?

Or, you keep falling in love with wonderful people who either turn out to be horribly different once you get to know them; or even more wonderful than you expected, and yet you push them away or walk out of the relationship?
What if you're getting emotionally involved again, and you want this relationship to succeed? What do you do, now?

Answer: learn the Embody Success! (R) method of stopping self-sabotage in order to live the life of your dreams!

I was put on my first diet at age 4 and lived the next 50 years as a fat girl either on a diet or off a diet.
I was raised with psychology as our religion; "Know theyself" was our credo and my parents attended weekly sessions
with their respective psychoanalysts. In 8th grade I was "confirmed" - I was given my own psychiatrist to tutor me in the ways our past
explains our present.

40 years later I had an insight so awesome as to qualify as an epiphany. I saw that no matter how clearly I understood HOW and WHY my past shaped my present behavior, it did NOT equip me with new behaviors to empower my having a happy, healthy future. I had spent a lifetime chasing after that elusive insight that would be so profound my ways of coping would change that instant!

Like most yoyo dieters, I was an expert at losing weight on any diet you could put me on.
I just couldn't stay on a diet forever.
Or I didn't recognizxe myself in a mirror when I'd gotten down to a size 12(!) and the anxiety of being noticed drove me back to comfort foods!

Beginning in early 2003, I realized that I would do whatever it took to dismantle my self-sabotage machinery around body size, image, and food.
I meant it with every ounce of energy in my size 3X, 5'9" body!
I was not going to spend another 50-minute hour getting a better understanding of WHY I was making myself miserably unhappy and morbidly obese. I was going to find the means of changing my behavior so I could live as the creative, vibrant, happy,
healthy human being God intended me to be.

I did and I am!
And I want to share what I have learned and what I know with others so they can embrace the gift of this lifetime.
My years as a hospital chaplain, especially the 12 months as the resident oncology chaplain, showed me
how precious this lifetime is and how so many of us waste it on "the small stuff."
Barely a year after that residency, in June, 2000, I joined the ranks of cancer survivors.
I discovered a pencil eraser-sized blotch on my lower calf that turned out to be stage 1 Melanoma.
As I said to my oncology surgeon before he'd even introduced himself,
"If you need to take this leg to save my life, you have my full permission!" And I meant it.
He suggested it would be best if he first took a look at my leg before deciding on a course of surgery. :-)
As it turned out, my vigilence & early detection, plus the results of the excision, and a wide margin excision & sentinel lymph node biopsy 7 days after that, made no further treatments necessary.

But that was the level of laser-focused determination that I later applied to overcoming my identity and behaviors as a fat girl/woman who would spend the rest of her life either "on" a diet or "off" a diet.

I also had a classic case of fear of success! My father was a talented architect with his own firm & employees, but he was not a business man, and he wouldn't take on a business partner so there was always "enough" work, etc. but he never broke through the entrepreneurial- small practice. My Mom was a card-carrying member of the musician's union but stopped working when my sister came along. Most of the Uncles I had were doctors, lawyers or self-employed. I didn't "see" career people who were joyfully, exuberantly thriving in their chosen fields - but they were pretty much all content with what they had and it was enough.

When I left the ministry to become a life coach (Jan. '05) and began to dream about the contributions I wanted to make to people's health and happiness in their careers and relationships, I experienced anxiety when my dreams got larger and I realized that I had to tackle my own self-sabotage in the area of work!

After living over a year in a strong, healthy size 10 body*, I decided I would address my fear of success. I got training in executive and corporate coaching, leaving 16 years as an ordained congregational minister, pastoral care minister and chaplain, with a dream and another sense of calling. When Marcia Wieder came to the monthly meeting of the Georgia Coaches Associaton in March, 2005 and introduced us to her Dream Coach method, my spirit leapt with recognition of a kindred soul and a process that would support my mission to others. In August, 2005 I completed the training and became a certified Dream Coach; in March, 2006 I complted the training and became a certified Dream Coach Group Leader. *I've been wearing size 8 jeans for over 2 years

I am a national motivational speaker for ObesityHelp.com (since '05), Obesityandme.com, and have clients from coast to coast. and just began working with my first overseas client (Europe) .
My articles have been published in both national and regional magazines.

My weightloss clients have referred spouses and friends who want to overcome self-sabotage in their career and/or relationships! The process works on any content that triggers the self-sabotage response! So, for example, my weightloss clients have gone on to coach themselvelves through destructive habits on the job; and/or poor choices in romantic relationships.

Personally, Jim & I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary in May, 2009, we continue to create new dream projects together!
And our sons, Luke & Zachary are living out their dreams: Luke as a professional drummer & Berklee Col. of Music grad., and Zach as a Wall St. bond trader (U of Mich, MBA) & former IT "wunderkind" for a multinational bank (MIT, BS Comp. Sci)..

I get to create more dreams for myself, my career and my relationships! As long as I have breath, I will dream dreams and choose some to translate into activities and accomplishments in my life.

I can show you how to live your dreams, too! What are you waiting for?
Don't treat your life as if you have all the time in the world. You don't.
What you have is enough time.
Enough time to experience the exhilaration of letting go of all that fear, sadness and/or anger that has shackled you!
Enough time to embrace your life with passion, imagination, resourcefulness and courage!
Let's talk.
Faithfully,
Lauralyn
