About me

Mission Statement: I am seeking a challenging international financial management function with either a technology-focused, emerging or mid-stage startup company or a medium-sized international firm where I can help them advance to the “next level,” either as an interim manager or in a position with a longer-term perspective.

As President of the Munich Chapter of the American German Business Club and a member of Munich Network's Technology and Innovation Network, I am quite active in the Munich Area international business networking circle and have keen interests in Clean Technology.

Special Competencies
· Financial Management in both mid-stage startup companies and in major global publicly traded technology companies.

. Management of revenue reporting with in-depth co-ordination with sales management to package non-standard deals in conformance with US GAAP revenue recognition guidelines and Sarbanes Oxley reporting requirements.

· Preparation for IPO or trade sale
   . Performed a key role in the completion of a highly successful 2004 trade sale
of technology-based startup company ($45 Million).
   . Managed financial, legal and administrative aspects thereof, including due
diligence process and subsequent integration process.

· Completion of Financing Rounds - Provided financial and administrative support in assuring the success of a 2001 venture capital funding round.

· Establishment of new operations in foreign countries (e.g. Japan, U.S.A., France).

· Effective Risk Management processes
- Set up Risk Management System for supporting corporate governance
while satisfying public reporting requirements – i.e. German KonTraG.
- Proven track record in establishing processes to help meet the evolving
requirements of Sarbanes-Oxley as well as similar European initiatives.

· Internal Reporting - Created monthly financial reporting package that became a report standard for venture capital partners.

· Public Reporting – In-depth experience in coordinating all annual reporting requirements, including interfaces with public accountants and public auditors.

· Broad experience in strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis and reporting (IAS, HGB, US GAAP), general and consolidation accounting, cost and management accounting, M&A, treasury, tax and internal control.

· Application of US GAAP approaches for software revenue recognition (per the specific requirements embodied in SOP 97-2).

· Management of broad-based organizational change processes
- Installation of MFG-PRO ERP system
- Implementation of significant process cycle time improvements
- Introduction of lean manufacturing concepts.

· Establishment and operation of new companies (Czech Republic), joint ventures.

· Purchase and integration of companies.

· Set up of enhanced European business organizations, including creation of new legal structures for optimizing tax considerations.
