About me

Born on the 23rd of January 1980 in Hamburg, Germany as son of Regina and Henrich Pöhls. Interrupted only by a half-year stay in the United States of America I frequented school in my hometown. After the graduation in the summer of 1999 I performed eleven month of civil service in the hospital Klinikum Nord in Hamburg.

In October 2000 I started my studies at the Technischen Universität Carolo-Wilhelmina zu Braunschweig, Germany. From January 2005 till March 2006 I studied at the Politecnico di Torino, Italy, and graduated in may 2007 from my alma mater.

Already during time at the university I started to work fulltime in the Studio Camerana&partners at Turin, Italy. One of my last projects inside the studio Camerana&Partners was a housing project to be realized in Milan, Italy, but I could gather vast experiences during various participations in projects and competitions.

Since my arrival in south america I had the opportunity to work as a freelancer in diffrent studios here in Porto Alegre. Planning and realizing architecture of various typologies, ranging from industrial buildings to houses and from interior design to masterplanning. I enjoy my work here for the high liberty and the responsibilities given to me from the beginning on. Already the first months served to learn many new aspects from my colleges. I always look forward to new interesting projects and the participation in innovative planning. I will try to develop ecological, sustainable and energy-efficient architecture as well as to integrate the European knowledge gained into the south-american context.

Since August 2009 I am enrolled in the Master program of the UFRGS, the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, in the field of architectural tecnology and am planning to write my thesis about techniques and strategies for sustainable office buildings. I am planning a collaborate project on "smart buildings" with various teams from Brazil, Germany and Italy.

Apart from my work I am interested in arts, photography, Bonsai and Jazz. In my free time I try to dedicate myself to these hobbies, take walks with my wife or go out to meet friends.
