About me

An educator with over two decades’ experience, Louise Losos has dedicated her career to both educating youth and improving the conditions in which learning occurs. She has been a classroom teacher and served as both assistant principal and principal at the high school level. Highly educated and driven to help students achieve their potential, she has worked ceaselessly to ensure that the students under her care receive the best education possible. Most recently, Louise Losos served as Principal of Clayton High School in Clayton, Missouri. Under her leadership, Newsweek named Clayton High the number one school in Missouri and listed it among the top 100 schools in the nation.

Louise Losos attended Harvard University, where she earned a BA in History in 1990. She subsequently attained her MA in History from Washington University in St. Louis in 1996, and then enrolled at St. Louis University, earning an EdS in 1998 and a PhD in Educational Leadership in 2000. Always seeking to continue her education and improve her ability to help students succeed, Dr. Losos also received Administrator II certifications in Principal, 9-12, and Superintendent, K-12, as well as in Social Studies, 7-12.

After graduating from Harvard, and while she pursued higher degrees, Louise Losos taught Social Studies at Ladue Horton Watkins High School in St. Louis, gaining invaluable experience that complemented her education. In 1999, she was awarded the Dorot Fellowship and spent a year developing leadership skills in Israel.

Prior to joining the staff at Clayton High School, Louise Losos served as Assistant Principal at Parkway West High School in Ballwin, Missouri. She developed the school's master schedule for 2004-2005 and acted as summer school principal in 2002 and 2003. Dr. Losos also worked at the district level, sitting on several committees related to student discipline and diversity.
