I write about data products, data science & data analytics.

I am working with a variety of clients on big data and predictive analytics related projects. My main focus are analytical CRM systems as well as data products based on recommendation engines. Additional I just finished writing a book for O’Reilly Media on big data analytics and its use cases within the businesses.

Building Data Centric Product and driving Data Centric Innovation at LinkedIn

I am serving as an advisor to the board of data centric companies.

Fisheye got acquired by the WPP group in 2013. I've co-founded Fisheye Analytics in 2009 and lead it as CEO. FIsheye Analytics is a data-mining company whose products support governments and various NGOs, such as the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and the International Olympic Committee.

As Dell abandoned the 'direct model', I've built a organisation from scratch serving computer reseller: the “Dell Partner Direct” program. This was change management at it's best.

Excited by online sales and online measurements we started: "weihnachtbrief.com", offering individualized and handwritten Christmas letters from San Claus. We used social e-commerce techniques to spread the word. A part of the earnings were used to support charities.

I led the pan-european team for the e-commerce store. It was an exciting time with data from millions of clients to improve our offerings and conversion rates. We implemented great tools to follow customer journeys and to measure customer value.

3G networks were not yet existing and we created a kind of 'apps' store for new 3G data applications to happen: Ericsson Mobility World. Together with VCs we selected many great StartUps which created hundreds of mobile applications.
