About me
Internet executive with over 16 years of experience, including management of mid to large size organizations, corporate development, product development, business operations, marketing, sales and strategy.
Currently CEO at Carpooling, the web's largest and most powerful ridesharing network.
Previously held various leadership roles at Yahoo! for ten years – including most recently: Chief Sales Officer in Australia and New Zealand, Global Director of Sales in the United States with the responsibility for media distribution in Europe, Asia and Latin America as well as Regional Head of Business Development in Singapore in charge of Business Development, Marketing and Communications for Yahoo! in South East Asia.
Barnikel also launched and served as managing partner of ONPEAK CONSULTING - a digital B-to-B market intelligence platform for the automotive industry.
Prior to joining Yahoo!, Markus spent six years in Senior Management positions in Marketing and Sales, most recently at Philip Morris responsible for a portfolio of market leading FMCG brands.
Markus Barnikel holds a master degree in International Business from the European Business School in London.
