Educational background

About me

Many organizations implement improvement methodologies like lean, six sigma, re-engineering, TQM, etc. But most fail to meet their overall expectations for improvement. Organizations could do so much more to create an environment where people can do their best work. Looking to work with organizations or teams that are not satisfied with their rate of progress and feel they could accomplish more.

We have written a couple of books.  Our latest is my favorite:
1. "Escape the Improvement Trap" - a story of why most improvement initiatives fail to transform an organization's competitive position, even though the organization got better (I have a major emotional investment in this book, I believe we wrote something important....it will be interesting...or perhaps distressing...to see if anyone reads it - and more importantly acts on the information)....the problem is NOT leadership support for improvement. But there is a problem the way leaders manage/guide improvement activities.  This book has received some great reviews on Amazon...check out  http://tinyurl.com/44osfyu

In retrospect probably should have titled the book, "Moving Beyond the Improvement Tools - Leadership's Role"

2. Six Sigma Black Belt Handbook; McGraw-Hill, Nov. 2004

3. Six Sigma Financial Tracking & Reporting my fun title is "I Had a Million Dollars in Savings, But My P&L did not change?" December, 2005
