Currently I am in the process of building the core team and financing the 1st annual Cancun DJ Summit scheduled for October of 2009. This event is modeled after Miami's Winter Music Conference. In essence this is to be a trade show/convention encompassing all manner of the electronic dance music business. Cancun, the world's 2nd most popular vacation destination, was a natural location, due to it's facilities, music venues, hospitality and many other factors.

From this stage of the project we are concentrating on the key affiliations and partnering before moving on to the sponsorships. We are seeking to work with individuals experienced in the ins and outs of the production of large music events and conventions. Experience and connections are key.

We have seen interest in the project financing from venture capitalists and angel investors but are not sure that is the way we need to go. Preferable would be being backed by a more 'hands on' corporate partner, preferably from the marketing sector. Our next trip to Cancun will be early November. We hope to have a lot of this wrapped up prior to that trip.
