Michael Walz, born in 1977 in Baden-Baden, Germany graduated at the „Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy Conservatory in Leipzig, Germany in Jazz & Pop Guitar (M.M) and Music Pedagogy (M.M), respectively and owns a diploma in Electronic Music Producing of the Audio Engineering School SAE Barcelona, Spain. He studied with R. Beirach, B. Klein, F. Haunschild, J. Schönecker, P. Shigihara, C. Röver, W. Neumann, N. Faria, J. Castilho, C. Bergamini and attended workshops with S. Henderson, K. Rosenwinkel, P. Bernstein, P. Metheny, L. Galvão. Different music projects (jazz, latin, funk/soul&pop) gave him the possibility to perform, travel and live in different cities and countries. After living in Baden-Baden (Germany), Freiburg (Germany), Cologne (Germany), Leipzig (Germany), Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Barcelona (Spain), he is currently living in New York (USA). He played concerts with own projects or as sideman as guitar player and/or singer in Germany, The Netherlands, Czech Republic, Spain, Brazil and the United States. Moreover, he performed at festivals such as: III Festival de Inverno do Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 2004; Feira da Prefeitura de Santos, Brazil, 2004; Jazz at Parc Ciutadella in Barcelona, Spain, 2007 & 2008. Furthermore, he was Guitar player in the musical “All You Need Is Beat – A Tribute To The Beatles”, Leipzig, Germany 2003 and “Max und die Käsebande”, Leipzig, Germany 2005. Michael teaches guitar, music harmony & theory, different computer music applications (Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, Reason, Melodyn, Finale among others) for people of all ages as well as early musical instructions for kids. Besides music performing and teaching, he produces music for different artist and his own music. His music activities cover a wide range of working fields: composing, arranging, music producing and sound editing.
