Some info about myself
Work
I am currently employed as the Head of Development at krügernetwork GmbH, a leading provider of Certificate and Identity Solutions based on Microsoft technologies. Before that, I gathered extensive experience as a freelance trainer, consultant and developer on Microsoft platforms. In they heyday of the new economy (a.k.a. "Web 1.0") I used to work at an internet agency which I co-founded (h3l new media, based in Stuttgart), where I got to experience the highs and lows of this exciting time. Some of the technologies and platforms I spend my time with these days are Forefront Identity Manager, Active Directory, C#, Visual Studio TFS, System Center Operations Manager and Smart Cards.
Academic Pursuits
I completed my studies of cultural anthropology, computer science and philosophy at the university of Tuebingen, Germany with a magister artium degree (equivalent of a master's) in 2009. My main areas of academic interest were (and are) internet-based ethnography/ethnography of the internet, popular culture and workplace sociology/corporate culture (cultural studies), philosophy of mind and philosophy of science (philosophy) and operating systems, data bases and agent-based computing / semantic web (computer science). As far as my full-time employment permits, I try to keep somewhat up to date in the areas mentioned.
