I am broadly interested in subjects like leadership, development and culture. The central idea you might say is: how can humans develop themselves, through the help of others.
My experience is that humans like to develop themselves. This development can be through promotion or by becoming better at ones job or by changing jobs. But development is always there as we adjust ourselves to new situations.
The development however needs support from leaders who show what is possible and through their example can speed it up or it can be slowed down through elements in the surrounding culture or organizational climate. And last but not least our view of the world.
At the moment I am member of the board of the alumni society ToPoS. As a society of educational science and technology alumni we try to help each other in our professional development and keep connected.
Other interest I have are rollerblading or bike riding through a beautiful country side. I like to explore and look around.
One of my other interests is movies of which one of my favorite movies is "Good will hunting" with Robin Williams, Matt Damon, Minnie Driver and Ben Affleck. The struggle between Matt Damon's character and that of Robin Williams is a great example of how we need each other to let go of our fears, and how we can help each other to become fearless.
