CAREER IN BRIEF
 
1999 - to present: Hyon Engineering (at first GbR, later GmbH)
Managing Director of the company
Between 1999 and 2002, our firm was subcontract to other engineering firms. I got to develop many exterior / interior components of industrial vehicles and worked on tractors (a whole generation of engine covers for John Deere, including interior components like the First Aid kit) and trucks (dashboard plastic components with mounting frame for VW Brasil). Also in subcontract, I developed alloy wheels for engineering firms (ultimately for BMW) and many industrial design projects (for companies like FrogDesign). Once our firm acquired its own supplier number by major OEMs like AUDI AG and GETRAG GmbH, we then specialized in powertrain development. I also co-developed numerous ENGINE components and systems in production at AUDI (pre-development, series and the Le Mans race diesel engine), LAMBORGHINI (Gallardo), VW (Lupo 3L): mostly cylinder heads, intake / exhaust channels, water / oil cores, air filters / ducts, engine styling covers in Class-A Surfacing. I also designed a number of GEARBOX components for GETRAG (housings and shift forks of the BMW M5/M6, component design of a Hybrid gearbox for OPEL, jigs and fixtures for assembly and disassembly of gearboxes. In subcontract, I made hand sketches and computer renderings of exploded assemblies for different OEMs like: PORSCHE (steering column assembly of the Boxter, the glove compartments of Cayenne, front bumper of Cayenne), LÄGLER Industrial Machines (full development from styling to series product of a floor polisher). Recently I worked inside AUDI Motorsport on the 2nd generation LeMans race-diesel. Designs not yet in production are: styling of an ultra-light helicopter (Taiwan), layout of a compact hybrid 4WD car (Malaysia). Together with a safety engineer, we designed and patented a safer child seat

Worked as CAD consultant in the field of automotive engineering, developed numerous
components and systems for: AUDI (cylinder heads, engine blocks and oil pans), BMW
(rear view mirror), BBS (alloy wheels for BMW 7 series), DaimlerChrysler (interior of
the Mercedes Citaro Midibus for photorealistic rendering), PORSCHE (design of the
Harley Davidson V-Rod engine covers), VW BRASIL (exploded rendering of dashboard
assembly in a heavy truck) and FORD USA (torque converter for light pick-up trucks).
 
1994 – 1996 Intercad, Adelaide
Freelance Designer
Designer with Pro/E in the field of automotive engineering, developed numerous
components and systems for customers like: AIR INTERNATIONAL (side intrusion
bars and steering columns of MITSUBISHI cars, ROH (alloy wheels for HOLDEN
and HONDA, after-market wheels), CASTALLOY (alloy wheels for Harley Davidson).
 
1993 – 1993 Seeley International, Adelaide
Freelance Designer
I was in charge of redesigning the front cover of an older model portable air conditioner
to be in line with other newer models sold by the manufacturer. The job included model
making, technical drawings and user manual illustrations. The one month project was
finished within time and budget and was presented at the 1993 Paris International Trade Fair. By mid 1994 this new design entered production...
