Olaf von Roeder is a graduate of the General Staff Officers Course of the Fuehrungsakademie der Bundeswehr, Hamburg.
He commanded at the squadron level and wing level (Wing & Base Commander Fighter Bomber Wing 33, German Air Force).
Multiple staff assignments on several levels included the Federal Ministry of Defense, Berlin, where he served two State Secretaries as personal consultant for Aerospace Technology, Aerospace Industries, and all Air Force or Aerospace related matters.
