Educational background

About me

I have over 25 years experience in medicine. I studied medicine in Germany and trained in cardiovascular, general, vascular, abdominal, orthopaedic and trauma surgery before moving in 1997 for the first time to England. There I worked in a busy Accident & Emergency department and further trained in Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Paediatrics and General Medicine to qualify in 2000 as General Medical Practitioner.

I was awarded membership of the prestigious Royal College of General Medical Practitioners in UK and worked as a partner and practice manager in a rural family practice in Lincolnshire. I further specialised in Diabetes care at the University of Warwick. Also I trained in Acupuncture, Neural therapy and Reiki.

I studied at the University of Derby to receive an ILM Diploma in Management and joined the Institute of Leadership and Management. From Newcastle College I received a Certificate in Life Coaching.

In 2005 I moved to Estonia and gained insight knowledge in the SPA and Hotel business as a director for Strategic Development in an Estonian SPA Resort. Later I founded my first two companies: Wellness Group and ITI Sparx.

In Wellness Group I offered private health services for one of Estonias biggest private health care providers Medicover (now Qvalitas), as well as hotel medical services for several of the most prestigious hotels in Tallinn.

In ITI Sparx I  ran together with my wife the multilingual family-style kindergarten SPARX in Tallinn, teaching children from the age of one (!) in three languages - Estonian, English and German - with the help of professional kindergarten teachers.

For 1,5 years I went to Switzerland to run a single-handed GP practice for a group practice and enjoyed the possibilities available to him in terms of on-site diagnostics like ulrasound, Xray and own laboratory. I was also appointed during this time as panel doctor for the SBB - the Swiss railway operators - medical services for Lucerne.

In 2011 I returned together with my family to England and settled in Suffolk. Initially I joined a busy NHS GP partnership but soon realised, that my heart is in preventative medicine in a private setup. I resigned from the partnership and am building up my private practice for functional medicine. To keep my skills in acute medicine up-to-date I also work as a locum GP for the NHS and private healthcare providers.

I like to make use of many "tools" I learned in my career from traditional western medicine to alternative healthcare and want to help my clients to Get well and Stay well.

SPECIALTIES
Broad medical knowledge, management and leadership skills, curiosity to practice outside of the box.
