Raised in Jamaica, Patricia Spellen currently resides in Maryland, where she works as the Executive Manager for Field Support Services at the Owings Mills office of Aon Risk Services. A graduate of the University of the West Indies, where she received a B.S. in Natural Sciences and Urban Planning, Patricia Spellen spent time in Toronto, Canada, before joining Aon in 2003. Initially hired as a Project Manager, Patricia Spellen was promoted to Executive Manager after successfully handling a complicated office transfer from Owings Mills to New Delhi, India. As Executive Manager, Patricia Spellen leads a team that specializes in the allocation of direct-bill revenue to clients, as well as the recognition of revenue to producers for the achievement of production targets. In her work as head of the Document Management Unit, Patricia Spellen ensures safe and speedy access to the insurance documents stored in Aon’s proprietary FileNet system, checking documents for proper scanning and maintenance. Outside of work, Patricia Spellen enjoys exercising and athletics; she played on the netball teams of St. Jago High School and the University of the West Indies and continues to play the sport. A member of Gaithersburg’s Bally Fitness Club, Patricia Spellen also enjoys running and tennis. At home, Patricia Spellen enjoys cooking, watching movies (particularly the Bridget Jones’ Diary series), and reading. Patricia Spellen is a particular aficionado of the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew mystery books, reading all of the available books in the two series during her youth. A member of St. Paul’s Roman Catholic Church in Damascus, Maryland, Patricia Spellen also enjoys working with the church community to help feed and clothe the poor.
