ABOUT ME I just love business and looking at new business ideas!
Nowadays I'm investing much of my time on business networking as I think this can open my mind to new worlds!
Since a kid I always had my little business, so since young I'm used to financial independency from my parents.
While still in University, in the beginning of 1995, I founded my first company, Esoterica, with 4 more partners. Esoterica was the first private portuguese Internet Service Provider and one of the first in Europe. We were refered by the media as "David against Golias" reflecting our history of strong fights against big companies and monopolies!
When I sold my share at Esoterica, in 1997, I founded two more companies, Diginexo and Navepress.
Diginexo (
www.diginexo.pt) comes from the join of the words Digi and Nexo, which represents the link (nexo or elo in portuguese) to digital (digi) world. This way we are the "link to the digital world" of our clients. Nexo word also means "making sense" or "with logic". This is my main company and the one I refer on my professional profile here.
Navepress was a company on the media and advertising area. Once we even controled a sport radio program that delivered local sport news everyday to our local city. Business are like roses, always beautifull, but always with thorns. This was the first company I had to close without making a real profit from it.
Nowadays, besides Diginexo, I also have Frontend Multimedia, Winenexo and Cargobyte.
Frontend Multimedia (
www.frontend.pt), is a company that develops professional and advanced websites. We work on the edge of the wave and we have a super attitude regarding any project we work. As we say, we are proud to sign our works as they have a lot of ourselves!
Winenexo (
www.portwineonline.com), is a micro company that sells port wines over Internet! Once we had the biggest list of port wines in Internet (over 2.000 listed products). Unfortunatly after September 11th, we had a major crash in our orders, as 95% of our clients were in the US market. After the attacks on NY, americans naturally changed priorities and port wines were no more on the list!
Cargobyte (
www.cargobytesoftware.com), is a long term company on the cargo management software development area. Very secret project! :D
In resume, I see myself as a person with much curiosity in many fields! I love being a business accelerator! I risk a lot and am always ready to make more and more! Money has been always my weak point as what I earn I invest and not always with success. The good part is that I achieved a lot of experience with my errors and am making fewer mistakes each day since them! Some people will add that I also need to focus more, but this is the way I am and I'm very happy with it! I can't imagine myself being in another way! :)
Being entrepeneur is my way of life!
