If you want to address your target audience in another country, translating your website or leaflet in their native language isn't enough. You should also be aware of cultural differences.
Translating is more than simply looking up a few words in a dictionary. A quality translation requires a thorough knowledge of both the source language and the target language, plus knowledge of the cultural backgrounds of both languages and of the subject matter.
I use these combined skills and years of experience to help you create a text that really appeals to your target audience.
I graduated in 1989 from the Opleiding Tolk-Vertaler (School of Translation and Interpreting) in Maastricht, the Netherlands, as a translator of English. I am a member of the Netherlands Society of Interpreters and Translators (NGTV) and an Associate of the Institute of Translation & Interpreting (ITI) and the American Translators Association (ATA)..
Fields of expertise
Transcreation/adaptation of advertising material (slogans, radio and TV commercials, ads, websites, brochures), translation of texts on art, fashion, journalism, human rights, travel and tourism.
