Entrepreneur and business pioneer Ramon dos Santos developed his business acumen working in commercial real estate and development and in pharmaceutical sales. A partner in Midras Partners for Business in Luanda, Angola, Ramon dos Santos has worked since 2002 investing stock in Angolan businesses connected to the health industry. His company is part of an entrepreneurial group active in Angola for more than 30 years. His work has contributed to the development of companies that have created jobs producing a significant impact on Angola's economic and social development.
Prior to joining Midras, Ramon dos Santos filled the role of National Sales Director for a pharmaceutical company Sao Paulo, Brazil. During this time, he helped with the development, launch, and sales of medicines, and also helped standardize company products in hospitals across the country.
A Brazilian educated in Business Administration, he earned a degree in Advanced Pharmaceutical Management from the Universidade Lusofona in Lisboa, Portugal. He received recognition from the National Association of Personal Development for an article he published describing how to avoid personal stress during labor disagreements. With his background in pharmaceuticals, in 2002 Ramon dos Santos accepted the professional challenge of heading Neofarma, Angola’s first nationwide distributor of medical supplies and medications. Besides that, the company spearheads logistics for the country’s AIDS program, and, since its establishment, has grown to include more than a dozen companies.
Active in numerous organizations that improve health conditions for the underserved in Angola, Ramon dos Santos supports projects like Saude Chegou, designed to provide Luanda’s poor with medical and prescription assistance, and Projeto Sorriso, an oral-health project established in 2009 in the small, central Angolan province of Huambo. Another project that receives attention from Ramon dos Santos promotes maternal and infant health for the country ranked among the worst in the world for infant mortality.
