About me

From diving to drilling to construction to sales, Richard Von Alvensleben possesses a varied range of talents and training to serve his clients’ needs. Beginning his career as a commercial diver for the United States Antarctic Research Program (now the United States Antarctic Program, or USAP), Richard Von Alvensleben spent four years in service to the program, four months of which saw him stationed on-site in Antarctica. Among his responsibilities, he installed corrosion markers, as well as working on the installation of a saltwater conversion machine. His efforts resulted in desalinated drinking water for 2,000 people on the continent.

Next, Richard Von Alvensleben founded and co-owned Associated Drilling. Among Associated Drilling’s offerings in the San Francisco Bay Area were drilling for structural and caisson foundations, as well as streetlights. In his oversight role, Richard Von Alvensleben supervised project maintenance, work bids, and employee performance.

At the same time that he was working with Associated Drilling, Richard Von Alvensleben co-founded World Concepts LLC in Morgan Hill, California. As Sales Manager for World Concepts, he served as a company representative to National Safety Associates and oversaw all parts of the sales cycle. In 2005, responsible for $100 million in sales, Alvensleben personally brought in 50 percent of the company’s revenue.

Beginning in 2002, Richard Von Alvensleben took the role of Construction and Sales Manager at TKL Home Designs LLC, a real estate construction, sales, and investment firm. The company’s operations included the buying and selling of distressed properties. Alvensleben's position also entailed oversight of a 25-person construction crew and the development of a $6 million rental fund.

Richard Von Alvensleben prepared for his career with an Associate degree in Marine Technology from Santa Barbara City College. The program holds recognition as the sole U.S. community college degree accredited by the National Association of Underwater Instructors (NAUI), the International Diving Schools Association (IDSA), and the Association of Commercial Diving Educators (ACDE). In his free time, Alvensleben enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, bicycling, and camping. He often takes his family to Northern California for snowmobile riding.
