Robert Jafari’s career in the nursing home construction business began with the help of his mentor, a man he met when he was a 16-year-old door-to-door salesman selling housewares. Recognizing the young Robert Jafari’s enthusiasm for entrepreneurship and his eagerness to learn about more about the field of nursing home operations and construction, his mentor directed him to spend the next two years performing every job, ranging from housekeeping and maintenance to social services and administrative duties, so he would fully understand the operational realities and daily needs of the staff and patients they served.
 
At the age of 17, after proving himself to his mentor’s satisfaction, Robert Jafari earned the role of CEO of the Butterfield Health Care Group of Bolingbrook, Illinois in 1987. Within just two years, he was directing the successful construction of a 107,000-square-foot nursing home project, working from one office with two assistants. For 18 years, CEO Robert Jafari oversaw Butterfield Health Care Group, directing projects for the specialty construction firm. Robert Jafari’s achievements during his tenure included a rapid increase in staff from the original pair of assistants working with him to a crew of 30. The following year, the staff increased to 90 employees and one year later to 250 employees. Robert Jafari directed more than 700 employees and a managerial staff that comprised the Butterfield Health Care Group.
 
The level of staffing reflected the continued growth of the company’s projects in the nursing home construction industry, including the construction of the 298-bed Meadowbrook Manor of Bolingbrook nursing home, a facility with nearly 300 administrative, health care, and support professionals. Special projects included the 150-bed Meadowbrook Manor of Geneva nursing home, as well as the rehabilitation of the 100-year-old Meadowbrook Manor of LeGrange 203-bed nursing home and Meadowbrook Manor of Naperville at 249 Bed nursing home.
