About me

Big Bang Lab’s Founder and Director is Sergio Lopez Figueroa an award winning composer, musical director and cultural entrepreneur.

For over fifteen years, Sergio has created a substantial body of innovative work across theatre, opera, new media, film and education. Alongside his expertise and experience, he is driven by a genuine passion for silent films and reviving cultural heritage. He creates and delivers new projects combining the application of music composition, non narrative digital editing and instrumental/vocal performance by re-using digitised film archives.

He is the founder and director of Big Bang Lab a creative social enterprise. In 2007 was preshortlisted b Social Enterprise Coalition to participate at the “new ideas, new business” event at the National Conference of Social Enterprises. He took part of the ICA Cultural Leadership programme “Discovering Voices” and more recently was selected by the London Development Agency’s Leadership Focus Group to benefit from one year coaching and mentorship programme in 2008/2009. He is promoting new concepts of heritage, digital media accessibility as CSR core values within the social enterprise sector and creative industries.

Followed by a successful Cultural Leadership award supported by the British Council, he tested Big Bang Lab outreach model in Delhi producing an innovative project in partnership with  the public TV channel, Media training centre, NGO, cultural venue and classical indian music promoters drawing them into a single project, Delhi City Symphony.
