• Key interface with corporate and country product marketing teams, responsible to build and communicate a competitive product and solution portfolio for the EMEA market.
• Prepared and provided product information to internal (country and headquarter teams) and external (channel partners, customers) audiences.
• Supported and advised local country teams regarding product related topics, e.g. for tenders or special customer requirements.
Successfully supported and influenced the global business unit in Houston, Texas ensuring that new products met EMEA requirements, thus significantly contributed to the success of the a desktop PC series in which product cost and customer requirements have been balanced. • Developed, maintained, and communicated the regional commercial desktop pricing roadmap, and managed all pricing events and approvals closely with the finance team.
• Defined the pricing strategy based on inputs from the country teams and the global business unit, and ensured its alignment with business plan financial goals.
• To achieve this I developed process and tools to analyse P&L consequences of pricing proposals with the finance team, in order to calculate e.g. price protection and gross margin impact.
• Continuously monitored and communicated competitive pricing activities, identified reliable sources of information in support of pricing decisions, and ensured pricing systems were maintained.
• Managed bid and promotional pricing approvals as part of day-to-day business, and helped significantly improve the global pricing process in working closely with the global business unit.

• Completed four months training at the School of Logistics in Bremen and was promoted to first lieutenant.
• Managed, trained, and employed a staff of 45 in the area of transport and logistics as platoon commander based in Cologne.
• After 9 months I was asked to assist the regiment commander and manage a new logistical project concerning first time overseas employment of a whole armoured division. I conducted logistical research and wrote a study for the School of Logistics in Bremen.
• In July 1994 I was promoted to head of staff department, and security officer at the signal battalion based south of Hamburg. Supervising a staff of five employees I was responsible for the security of personnel and more than 100 million dollars worth of equipment, and organized, coordinated, and implemented the entire battalion’s security measures.
