About me

Thank you for dropping-by.

I thought it would be nice to tell you something about me to give you an idea of who I am and where I fit in the world.

I have been working within the financial services industry since I came to Asia in 1993. In that time I have built up a considerable client base around the world. I travel extensively around Asia (at the invitation of clients and prospects) for personal interviews with people from all industries and of all nationalities.

My personal goal is: “To achieve complete financial freedom before I am sixty through helping others achieve theirs”.

Prior to my arrival in Asia I had a wide and varied career. After I left university (degree in Chemistry with Oceanography) I served as an officer in the British Royal Marines followed by work in engineering, sales, marketing and national account management in a range of industries (electrical, dairy and petroleum).

Following my arrival in Asia, my sons Matthew and Mark, came from the UK. Matthew now works with the financial services industry in Singapore, Mark has his own Internet and Web Design company based in Kuala Lumpur. Mark’s company, NI-Limits, is the one that designed and runs my site (http://www.tonysmalley.net) along with my secretarial services, telesales and database management.

Matthew’s wife Dulie brought my new granddaughter, Sophia, into the world shortly after my 50th birthday. Mark married Madeline earlier this year (2009) and I'll soon be blessed with another grandchild.

Hairul is son number three and is studying Business Studies at Griffith University, Brisbane. Things seem to be going well and I'm sure that he'll be able to offer me advice very soon.

Limah and I shall probably be staying in South-East Asia for the foreseeable future. After all these years I have developed a severe dislike of cold weather and seasons. Give me the heat and humidity!

I hope this has given you the opportunity to know me a little better and that we can help each other fulfil our dreams for the future.

Stay in touch, I am always happy to hear from you.
