Dr. Ulrich Bodenhofer   Gruppenmoderator

I was born in Upper Austria in 1972. I received the equivalent of an MSc degree in applied mathematics in 1996 and a PhD in engineering sciences in 1998 both from Johannes Kepler University, Linz, Austria. From 1994 to 1999, I was working as a research assistant at Fuzzy Logic Laboratorium Linz-Hagenberg, mainly on a project dealing with fuzzy logic-based optical quality control (for Sony corp.). From 1999 to 2006, I was working for Software Competence Center Hagenberg (SCCH), a non-profit IT research company (as an area manager from 1999 to 2002 and as scientific director from 2002 to 2006). In parallel, I have been teaching for Johannes Kepler University and Austrian Partners of International Universities. In July 2006, I went back to academia and joined the newly established Institute of Bioinformatics at Johannes Kepler University. I am member of several scientific associations, member of the editorial boards of three renowned scientific journals, member of numerous program committees of international conferences.
