About me

Verónica Varela has over 3 years professional experience working in product, packaging and merchandising design for small and big companies from the IT, Cosmetics and Food industries in Germany and Colombia.

Her +7-years academic background in packaging and industrial design includes a B.A in Industrial Design with major in Packaging Design, and an M.Sc. in Packaging, Design & Marketing from the Media University in Stuttgart, Germany, with a Colfuturo-DAAD scholarship (Colombia-Germany).

She is particularly interested in positions where she can apply her marketing, packaging design and industrial design skills to dynamic and innovative packaging projects. For this reason, she undertook an intership at Beiersdorf AG (Nivea) and wrote her master thesis in close collaboration with the packaging development and design management departments of the same company. Furthermore, she is currently working at Nestlé as Packaging Manager - Design in the Product and Technology Center in Singen, Germany.

These academic and professional experiences gives her understanding of not only the importance of packaging as brand-building, communication and marketing tool but also of NPD, packaging design and production processes. Moreover, she developed strong skills in project management, consumer centric packaging design and cross-functional teamwork with e.g. marketing, consumer insight, product development and manufacturing departments.
