About me

My fascinations

Speaking of my mind I can say that a great deal of it is an engineering one. I have deep fascination for systems and how everything in our world is interconnected. At university I chose to study electronics and after graduation I began a career in engineering. Despite the fact that I was working for a hi-tech business, it didn’t take me long to notice that the greatest obstacles facing our company were not of technical but of human, social and organisational nature. My daily mix of activities was clearly showing this: there were more organisational and managing issues to solve than technical problems.

If you have an uknown machine in front of you may wonder how it was built and what makes it tick. To find out you can turn it on and play with it. You can take it apart to examine the components inside it. But by inspecting the machine you don’t just have a possibility to learn about its technology. You can also learn about the people who made it: their reasoning, how they connected with one another, whether they liked their job or not. What is the implication here? If we want to build better machines we have to find better ways to collaborate, express ourselves, shine individually.
