About me

PERSONAL INFO:
Originally from the east coast (NJ, NY and Connecticut), and have been in California since 1979, where I attended Santa Clara University. I now live in the East Bay -- east of San Francisco. Still very much a New Yorker, and love the electricity of that city.

Those who know me would say I'm passionate, compassionate, adoring of children (put me with a giggling child and I'm probably done working for the day), love dogs, shy -- yet able to play a 'role' when necessary, prefer small groups rather than large get-togethers, romantic, affectionate, considerate and ultra-caring, extremely protective of family, friends, women, the elderly and children, a 'creative' at heart with a very good mind for finance, a natural leader (though I don't mind sitting back and following, and being in a supportive role), one who never gives up, ....

What I enjoy and a bit about me -- travel, reading, arts and culture, song-writing, music and musicians, film and theatre, (Broadway & London), NYC, Paris, St. Petersburg, Ashland, Foundation Maeght, .... French bread, Levi's, Breyer's ice cream, New York Times, Coke (not Pepsi), Renee Fleming singing jazz, quotes, live music, friends and sharing, honor, being kind and gracious as a rule is a always a good place to start, building foundations with people, anything lifelong, ultra-cycling and lately not so 'ultra', long drives, hikes in the hills, and city walks, beaches and warm weather, options investing, color, local honey and bee pollen, sunshine, horses, endurance, spontaneity, never give up, Chinese food, Lindt chocolate, the Tao, "knowing" -- one's sense of a place, the look in another's eyes, the incredible power of a light touch -- simply "knowing", ....

For me, "Who is the greatest rock band" is a statement and not a question.

On the business side...
I handle investments in real estate and the entertainment fields. I've been in finance and the real estate field for over 20 years, and during that time I had many clients in the entertainment business. I have been focusing more on the film business lately, and assist those who are interested in investing in film productions, but may not know how to start, or what to look for in a pitch. I'm a member of FilmAngels, and have a soft spot for the creative types.

Essentially, I create wealth for my clients, either through real estate, or entertainment investments.

Wayne is an expert in real estate finance. His background promotes the success of these investment activities. Wayne is a California licensed Real Estate Broker, a California licensed General Contractor, a licensed Nevada Broker-Salesperson, and a proud graduate from the University of Santa Clara. For decades he has utilized his professional skills in many areas of real estate including sales, development, and finance. In 1995, he co-founded Vanguard Financial Ltd. Wayne has a proven track record of success in subdivision and individual loans, commercial purchase and refinance transactions, financing for builder & developer clients, as well as institutional & private money transactions. As the team creator for his business enterprises, Wayne has overseen staff selection, development and training. He has arranged, and/or brokered over 3,000 mortgage loans.

Wayne is the Past-President of the California Association of Mortgage Brokers, has been honored by being named California’s “Mortgage Broker of the Year”, and is a CAMB “Presidential Award” recipient. He has received numerous other accolades throughout his 20 years of professional real estate involvement.

In the earlier years of his real estate career, Wayne managed a full-scale sales and marketing firm for select Northern California developers, which included providing comparative analysis, market research, formal critique of building plans & designs, promotional & advertising support, media selection & management, and marketing sales office staff selection. He was responsible for all sales training and implementation of innovative marketing strategy & sales plans. In the “down market” of the early 1990’s, he personally closed sales of over $43 million in residential transactions in a 3 year period, and provided land brokerage services for major builders.

Wayne’s expertise has led to being contracted on a fee basis as a consultant on marketing & sales programs, land use planning, and real estate development “product design”. He has furnished formal and informal market and consumer research to builders throughout Northern California. He is a sought after speaker, the author of many trade publication articles, and has been interviewed & featured locally and nationally in a variety of media (newspaper, magazine, trade publication, & radio). He has been retained as an expert witness for various California courts, in the areas of mortgage brokerage, standards of care, and fiduciary responsibilities.
