I'm an online education entrepreneur for the past 15 years, now working on commoditizing new neuro learning and linguistic approaches to obtaining expertise in specific fields of information (what we call “closed universes”), such as law and business. Ready to tackle the US Bar preparation market via a multi-media product line that includes train-the-trainer for institutional sales, followed by tackling the Indian legal outsourcing market and performance enhancement markets. As part of this overarching project, I am working on multi-media contextualization of issues (via nodes) in a mind-mapping schematic that may employ neural networking and may employ a user being able to customize connections and notes amongst the nodes. I’m working with one software developer in San Diego and in discussions with a major publishing company. Unsure of where to go with this latest sub-project? Interested in any ideas and suggestions.

William H. Byrnes, IV, has been a commissioned author and editor of 14 top-selling books and treatises and 19 substantial chapters for Lexis-Nexis, Wolters Kluwer, Thomson-Reuters, Oxford University Press, and Edward Elgar, as well as numerous commissioned, peer-reviewed, and law review articles. He is the author-in-chief of Summit Business Media-National Underwriters’ Financial Advisory Publications (Reference Division)– the dominant information service in the insurance/financial planning industry with 173,000 subscribers, and is responsible for the Tax Facts books, Advanced Underwriter Service, Advanced Markets Intelligence, and Advanced Sales Reference Service. He is the creator of ”Concept Maps” for Lexis-Nexis Tax Law Center. His Wealth Management Prof Blog is listed amongst the the ”Top 50 Blogs by Business Professors” by PhD in Management because of its daily original content and readership. Via the American Academy of Financial Management, he is annually consulted by the Dept. of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics for employment trends for financial analysts.

Professionally, William Byrnes was a Senior Manager, then Associate Director of international tax for Coopers and Lybrand which subsequently amalgamated into PricewaterhouseCoopers, practicing in Africa, Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean. He has been commissioned and consulted by a number of governments on their tax and fiscal policy from policy formation to regime impact. He has served as an strategic advisory board member for companies in several industries including fashion (Nolcha Fashion Week New York / London / Miami), durable medical equipment, office furniture, and technology. Since 1994, he has been a professional trainer for professional association conferences, government workshops, and corporate financial service in-house meetings. He established international tax training programs for EuroMoney and STEP (via Central Law Training / Wilmington).

Academically, William Byrnes pioneered online legal education in 1995, thereafter creating the first online LL.M. offered by an ABA accredited law school. William Byrnes has extensive experience in developing and managing innovative revenue generating law and business programs, including establishing foreign institutional relationships to address local market demands and barriers, as well as unique professional education programs. He has served as Chairs of two AALS sections: Post Graduate Legal Education and Graduate Programs for Foreign Lawyers. Before William Byrnes joined Thomas Jefferson School of Law, he was a tenured law faculty member. He began teaching in 1994 in South Africa and remains a Visiting Professor at the University of Witwatersrand. Professor Byrnes’ dissertation for his three year fellowship at the IBFD and the University of Amsterdam was on international transfer pricing’s impact on global trade and the balance of payments.
