Hello everybody!
As a student, I joined the Organization "Weltbund zum Schutz des Lebens" WSL in Germany, Lower Saxon, in 1968. After I had an internship at Farbenfabriken Bayer in Leverkusen, I didn't want to become a chemist, but a nature's conservationists. The first local group of the WSL in the German federal state Lower Saxon didn't want to invite me to their assemblies, because I had many political left-winged friends. 1979 I moved to Bremen and was elected WSL-delegate for the smallest federal state. But suddenly the general assembly in Germany decided to abolish the status of the delegates without amending the articles of association. I was the only one who voted against this decision. But I am not a lawyer and I didn't know what to do. The members in Lower Saxon informed me, that they would leave the German section of WSL and join the Austrian section. In the following years we had much trouble with the so-called "Deutsche Sektion", because they lost their recognition as a non-profit organization for tax-deductible purposes. Many former members are now in the BUND, Greenpeace and similar organizations.
Later I wrote to the Austrian section to prepare for the 50th anniversary 2008 - and started the website in three languages to reactivate the international status.
I hope you are interested what is going on in this network and I'm looking forward to your comments.
Best regards,
Frank M. Rauch
