German Business Association - GBA

Über uns

The GERMAN BUSINESS ASSOCIATION – the GBA – has been one of the first foreign business associations in the country, starting its activities already back in 1995. Thus, 2015 marked the 20th anniversary of GBA in the country. Over that period of time, GBA has been the center point of German business life, culture and values in Vietnam. It helped German businesses in developing their operations, advised on a wide range of topics and created opportunities for business and social exchange in both Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.

Today, GBA has more than 200 members, a number that also reflects the opportunities and dynamics of the Vietnamese market. It is one of the largest foreign business associations in the country and a highly respected counterpart in the local community. In addition, GBA was one of the founding members of EuroCham in Vietnam, a partner association that combines the pan-European activities and interests in the country. A GBA membership automatically goes along with EuroCham membership to underpin our strong ties with the other European business communities.

To even further strengthen bilateral ties and trade exchange between Germany and Vietnam, GBA decided in January 2015  to merge with the future German-Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce, AHK. After achieving agreement of the GBA Board and the overwhelming majority of its members, GIC / AHK Vietnam has started the preparation procedure to found AHK Vietnam. The process is expected to be concluded latest in the course of 2016.
