A practical introduction: F# and the Cloud
F# is a mature, open source, cross-platform, functional-first programming language that that is rapidly growing in popularity as a viable companion and alternative to C# and VB .NET. With its succinct and expressive syntax, jaw-droppingly powerful features and vibrant community, it’s no wonder that many of the features being proposed for the next version of C# are based on F#!
This talk will introduce the F# language and ecosystem to you, and show you just a few of the reasons why using F# can drastically reduce both bug rates and time to market. We’ll see some compelling examples of how you can immediately start using it as a part of your existing day-to-day .NET application stack, and also see some amazing demos of how F# is pushing the boundaries in data access, cloud computing, distributed compute and solving big data problems.
About the speaker:
Isaac Abraham is an F# MVP and a .NET developer since .NET 1.0 with an interest in cloud computing and distributed data problems. He nowadays lives in both the UK and Germany, and is the director of Compositional IT. He specializes in consultancy, training and development, helping customers adopt high-quality, functional-first solutions on the .NET platform.

You can park directly at the shopping center Rheingalerie (recommendation), in the parking deck Bürgerhof or in the parking deck Zollhof 4. Please don’t try to park at the area of the Werfthalle. All slots are rented.
