FMX, CONFERENCE ON ANIMATION, EFFECTS, GAMES AND TRANSMEDIA
Art, Technology and Business meet at FMX, Europe’s most influential conference for digital entertainment, where the latest developments in Animation, Effects, Games and Transmedia are being explored. 2015 will see its 20th anniversary edition.
Under the headline “Immersion & Virtual Realities – The Future of Content Viewing and Producing,” FMX discusses the impact of immersive technologies across the different platforms. Further emphasis is put on topical issues such as Animation as Fine Art, Concept Art, Animation Wild 'n Strange and many other topics. The program comprises VFX highlights such as Oscar-winning “Interstellar” or Academy-decorated animation delight Big Hero 6 and insights into Finding Dory – the highly-anticipated Finding Nemo sequel – as well as Transmedia sections such as the “Virtual Humans Forum” and immersive game formats. FMX is all about interactivity: On top of its multifaceted conference program, the Marketplace showcases brand-new products, services and innovations from all over the world, the Recruiting Hub allows renowned industry leaders to scout for talent, and the School Campus assembles international media schools which present themselves to future students.

FMX is an event by the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg, organized by the Institute of Animation, Visual Effects and Digital Postproduction, hosting the Animation Production Day (APD), a joint venture with the Festival of Animated Film Stuttgart (ITFS). It is an event in cooperation with VES Visual Effects Society, ACM SIGGRAPH, 5D Institute and Eurographics. FMX is funded by the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts and the Ministry for Finance and Economic Affairs of the State of Baden-Wuerttemberg, the MFG Film Funding and the FFA German Federal Film Board.
