Payment and invoices

  • How can I change my invoice address?
    You can change your billing address by going to "Settings/Invoices & Accounts" followed by "Invoices & Accounts". Then just click on "Edit" next to the item you want to change. Once you've done that, enter your XING password to confirm your changes followed by "Save billing details".

    Your new invoice address will then be used for your next invoice. If you need to change the address for an invoice we have already issued, please enter the address as described and then contact us to let us know about this so we can send you a new invoice.

  • How can I change my bank details?
    You can change your bank details, credit card details, or PayPal account details by clicking on "Settings/Invoices & Accounts" (cog symbol in the left sidebar) followed by "Premium Billing". Then just click on "Edit" next to the item you want to change, enter your XING password to confirm the changes, and then click on "Save billing details".

    If you encounter any problems, please note the following points:

    - Make sure you enter numbers without any spaces or special characters.
    - Even if you only want to change your credit card's expiry date you'll need to re-enter all of your credit card details.
    - Don't forget to enter your credit card's security code.
    - Please make sure you enter your XING password and save your changes.

    Also make sure that your billing address is up to date and complete (all of the mandatory fields must be filled in), otherwise you won't be able to save your billing details.
  • Can I view my invoices online?
    You can view all of your current and previous invoices online at any time by clicking on the "Invoices & Accounts" icon (the € symbol in My XING on the left-hand side of the page) followed by "Invoices". All invoices are digitally signed.
  • Are invoices digitally signed?
    All invoices are digitally signed and available in your account by going to "Home" → "Invoices & Accounts" → "Invoices".
  • How can I change the currency in which I'm invoiced?
    If you’d prefer to be invoiced in US dollars please contact us via our contact form. The change in currency will then take effect from the next invoice onwards.
  • Who can enter their VAT identification number?
    All contractors who work on a commercial freelance basis. This entry only applies to EU professionals who live outside of Germany. They will receive a separate invoice excluding VAT.
  • Where can I find out what my VAT identification number is?
    You can request your VAT identification number from your local tax office.
  • Why couldn't my membership fee be debited from/charged to my account?
    There may be several reasons for this:

    Credit card:
    - There may have been a temporary technical problem at your bank or credit card company
    - Your card may have been temporarily block due to suspicious activity
    - Your card may have expired
    - The transaction was revoked
    - You may not have had enough funds for this transaction

    Direct debit:
    - You may not have had enough funds at the time of the transaction
    - Your account has been closed or the details have changed
    - The transaction was revoked

    - Your account contains invalid payment details
    - The transaction was revoked

    Please either contact your bank, credit card company or PayPal for further information.
  • I'm having problems working out a transaction.
    To help you with this, please use the contact form to provide us with the following information:

    - The exact date of the transaction
    - The amount of the transaction
    - If this is a credit card transaction: Please provide the last four digits of the credit card used for the transaction and the name of the card holder
    - If this is a direct debit transaction: Please provide the invoice number stated in the reference field of the transaction

  • How can I pay for my Premium membership with PayPal?
    Firstly you'll need to create a PayPal account if you don't already have one. Once you've done that, you can then order a Premium membership and select "PayPal" as your payment option by clicking on the collection terms and granting authorization for your PayPal account.

    Then you'll be redirected to the PayPal site where'll you'll need to log in and confirm the standing order. After that you'll be taken back to the XING site where you can complete the Premium membership process.

    The Premium membership amount will be charged to your account once you complete the purchase process.
