For the area of "Software Architectures for Information Systems”, we are looking to hire at the earliest possible date a highly motivated employee to conduct high-level research and industry projects.

What we expect from you
  • Master degree or German Diplom degree in computer science (from a university or university of applied sciences) or in a comparable discipline
  • Sharp perceptive faculties, strong analytical skills, self-initiative, creativity
  • Ability to cope with pressure, flexibility, ability to work in a team
  • Experience in software development projects
  • Experience in the area of software architectures (optional)
  • Experience with technologies in the area of information systems (optional)


What you can expect from us
You will be a member of our Architecture Centric Engineering team, which conducts exciting publicly funded projects as well as projects with partners and customers from business and industry, with a high degree of personal responsibility, goal orientation, and a focus on success. In industry projects, your main task will be to improve our customers‘ software products through innovative architecture concepts and methods. To do so, you will use state-of-the-art design and analysis tools, which we are continuously expanding and optimizing ourselves, driven by customer and research projects. Also in industry projects, you will help customers from a wide variety of domains answer critical questions regarding their systems by performing architecture evaluations. In addition, you will be actively involved in shaping newly developed products in a future-oriented and high-quality manner through the use of appropriate concepts, or in creating a new architectural basis for existing systems.
The institute’s dynamic research environment continually provides new opportunities for gaining experience in handling current technologies, or for strengthening existing experience. In the context of research projects, we offer the opportunity to do a PhD. In your PhD work you get the chance to work on new and improved architecture methods that will allow practitioners to make better predictions, to document architectures, more efficiently, or to enjoy greater support through architecture tools. If you choose this path, you can make use of existing synergies to get your PhD from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Kaiserslautern. With our research results, we are always at the cutting edge of technology. Your tasks will thus essentially comprise:

  • Collaboration in industry transfer projects in the area of software architectures
  • Collaboration in research projects in the area of software architectures
  • Collaboration in scientific publications

Appointment, remuneration and social security benefits based on the public-sector collective wage agreement (TVöD). Additionally Fraunhofer may grant performance-based variable remuneration components.
