Job description
We're looking for a passionate Data Architect who wants to design and implement a cutting-edge data lakehouse to support operational and scientific data management in the world of research and higher education., * Design and implement a scalable data lakehouse that integrates structured and unstructured data
- Develop and maintain pipelines and workflows to ingest, process and store data from different sources
- Collaborate with data owners across the university and external vendors to integrate data into the lakehouse
- Create comprehensive documentation for the data lakehouse architecture, processes and standards
- Stay up to date with emerging trends and tools, and recommend the best technologies for specific data use cases, * Be part of a forward-thinking environment that fosters innovation, mentorship and the real-world usage of data to drive meaningful impact
- Build up a cutting-edge data lakehouse to support efficient management, exchange, analysis and visualization of operational and scientific data
- Guide and inspire researchers and students by providing support with data modeling concepts and technologies

Requirements
- Academic degree in the field of Data Engineering, Computer Science, Business Informatics or a related field
- 3+ years of professional experience in database design, architecture and modeling
- Expertise in cloud data solutions, data lakehousing, big data technologies (e.g. Apache Spark, Delta Lake), database systems (SQL, NoSQL), Python, APIs (e.g. REST, SOAP) and ELT/ETL approaches
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality and regulatory frameworks (e.g. GDPR)
- Proficiency in English at a professional and negotiation level
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and an analytical mindset to guide projects, solve problems, explain complex systems clearly and engage effectively with stakeholders
Benefits & conditions
Competitive compensation starting from EUR 60.000 yearly gross salary, with the possibility of overpayment based on qualifications and experience.
