To support our team we are searching for a Senior Data Engineer (f/m/d) to be based in our Munich office.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes in Databricks and cloud-based data platforms.
- Lead lift & shift initiatives, migrating existing Pentaho ETL jobs, on-premise data pipelines, and reporting workflows to cloud-native architectures.
- Build and optimize Medallion layer in a Delta Lake / Lakehouse architecture for marketing and customer analytics data.
- Automate data quality, validation, and monitoring for all pipelines, ensuring reliability and performance at scale.
- Participate in solution architecture discussions, providing input on technology selection, performance, and resource optimization.
- Opportunity to mentor junior engineers and shape data engineering best practices.
WHO YOU ARE
- 6+ years of experience in data engineering, preferably in marketing or customer analytics contexts.
- Strong expertise in ETL/ELT processes and data migration strategies.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks, Delta Lake, Spark, Python, SQL, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), Strong expertise in ETL/ELT processes and data migration strategies
- Experience with legacy ETL tools like Pentaho, Informatica, or SSIS & Airflow, dbt, or other orchestration frameworks is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of data modelling, data warehousing, and big data architectures.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ideally experience in the User Tracking and analytics in e-commerce environment.
- Experience with Power BI, Looker, or other BI/reporting tools.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence in working with cross-functional teams and collaboration with data scientists, analysts.
