VMware is looking for a skilled communications manager to take our internal communications strategy to the next level. We’re looking for someone who is energetic, unafraid to try new things, and has the ability to create inspiring digital communications that can further engage our VMware community of over 20,000 employees worldwide.
As part of the Global Employee Communications team, you will report directly to the Director of WW Employee Communications. This is a role meant for someone that is looking to learn and grow in their professional journey. You are a creative and well-organized team player that can easily make connections with a variety of internal stakeholders as you help VMware employees to feel informed, engaged and connected.
The Digital Employee Communications Manager will drive "employee voice” projects and implement tactics to support business priorities and communication vehicles:
Employee Voice Strategist connecting employee content to overarching employee priorities & culture in partnership with VMware’s news bureau.
Lead internal communication editorial council and calendar to ensure we are developing a global strategy that aligns to our company narrative and business goals for 2018.
Manage and promote digital content for various communication platforms including our intranet and digital signage thought the use of infographics, videos, podcasts, etc.
Develop and refine the strategy for internal social media tools to effectively communicate bi-directionally with employees.
Align our extended communication community – Serve at the connection point to align all communication functions globally around our current messaging, editorial calendar and key programs.
Assist in measurement of usage/usability of communications tools and refine focus based on research findings so goals are trending according to plan.
Provide additional support for Global Employee Communications team as needed, i.e. company meeting, town halls, internal meetings, videos, etc.
Essential to your success in this role:
Strong project management skills
Ability to pick up new tools and technical information quickly
Experience in creative content development and delivery of communications projects
An excellent influencer with the ability to identify and lead stakeholder groups
Self-starter; ability to work independently
Expert organizational, interpersonal and networking skills
Strong bias for execution; get work done even when at times it’s outside the scope of the job
Ability to operate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Desired: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or other related field; Master’s will be deemed an advantage
