The Global Business Unit Finance – Central FP&A team’s overall mission is to provide trusted and insightful financial information to enable the executive leadership teams to make effective decisions in maximizing VMware’s ROI. This team also has a strong focus to enhance the quality, efficiency, and scale of financial information produced, through process improvements, financial tools, and automation.
In this role, this Finance Manager will be a key member of the FP&A team and have a visible role in supporting the planning and analysis efforts related to bookings. This person will work closely with the FP&A teams to drive business results by combining intellectual curiosity to find insights with superb synthesis and communication. Additionally, this person will be responsible for surfacing and presenting key insights and recommendations to the Finance leadership team. Here’s a summary of this great opportunity:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following.
Lead and drive the key bookings planning processes (Long Range Planning, Annual Budget, and Quarterly Business Reviews).
Partner closely with GBU Finance Controllers to provide additional visibility in bookings forecasts, trends, and business performance.
Collaborate with Corporate, Sales finance and GBU finance teams on key quarter end close deliverables.
Lead developing and delivering data and analytics for the R&D organization (deep dives into all key bookings related metrics and product P&Ls)
Be a key contributor in cross functional GBU Finance initiatives to drive process improvements for R&D organization.
Attract, develop, and retain outstanding talent.
Superb verbal and written communication. Able to distill and present complex financial analysis into action-oriented recommendations.
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills … can communicate and interface with many different organizations
Proven experience leading, managing, and developing a team

Requirements, Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Economics required; MBA preferred
6+ years of experience in financial reporting and analysis, with a strong record of career progression
Experience in SAP HANA, Hyperion, and dealing with large datasets from databases
Expert Proficiency in Excel, solid experience with Powerpoint
