Dr. Annelies Vandersickel

Parallel to my research, I offer trainings on leading in an academic context, leading through the power of visualization and visual science communication. I support scientists and researchers with illustrations and drawings for proposals, publications and conferences, helping them to make their message ‘stick’. Using Sketchnotes, Infographics and Graphic Recording, I aim to create a deeper and common understanding as basis for collaborations.

- Simulation and Optimization of novel energy systems, such as: * integration and design of a thermochemical energy storage system * Optimisation of a solar thermal plant with integrated heat storage - Koordination of Project Meetings - First contact person for the Master students in the lab

- Development of ignition models for HCCI combustion using genetic algorithms (matlab/fortan) and validation using process- and CFD engine calculations - Writing detailed reports and a proposal tailored to the audience (scientist, funding agency, industry partners) - Participation at the project management of the large scale cluster project 'Kraftstoffkennzahlen', a collaboration with three partner universities and several automotive companies -

- Organization of weekly exercise session for 50-60 Students (Responsible for 4 co-teachers) - Proposed, supervised and graded a number of bachelor and semester thesis - Prepared, supervised and graded exercises and exams
